It's whale migration time here and it's such an amazing sight to behold.  Almost daily I'll be working in the kitchen and I'll see them out there splashing around.  I'll yell, "WHALES!!!" and then immediately hear little footsteps running down the hallway to come see them.  Yesterday they were so close that we could see the mist coming out of their blow holes.  It's incredible, so incredible that I find myself shaking my head not really believing this is my everyday life.

After sorting through 500+ pictures, here is an abridged account of our recent holiday:

We landed in Bali and stayed in our first of several villas.

We saw the sun set over the Bingin Peninsula...

got massages...

and saw traditional Balinese dancing.

Patrick surfed;

I watched.

We went to temples...

rice terraces...

and these pictures don't do any of these places justice.

We went to the Monkey Forest...

had nice dinners...

and saw more traditional Balinese dancing.

We took a speed boat over to the Gili Islands...

where I relaxed...

and we both got fish pedicures.

We saw more sunsets and then headed over to the island of Lombok.

We only spent the afternoon in Lombok, but saw this...

and then our vacation was over.

Daddy came home with a present for Brooks the other day...a new wetsuit. 

He loved it.

As we've had people in town I've noticed they take a lot of pictures from our balcony.  I realized that I needed to start taking some of my own before we move away because the sunrises and sunsets we get are truly spectacular. 

This is around 6am any given morning...

and this is around 5pm any given night.

We've been SO busy lately ~ my sister came to visit for three weeks back in July and then two days after she left my parents came to visit for three weeks.  I never seem to get many pictures when people come in town because I just plan to copy the ones they take, but then I forget to get them.  Anyway...

Brooks loved playing with Aunt Jessica...

We took her to Point Danger...

and Byron Bay...

Jessica smiled, but her heart was sad.  So I sang her a little ditty...

The sun will come up...tomorrow...and then all was right in the world...

because her husband finally arrived.

The dads took the kids to play in the ocean...

Brooks and Kayla loved seeing each other...

and before we knew it their trip, much like the kids, was done.
